We are looking for candidates who possess a calm demeanor, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a high-pressure environment. As a Police Dispatcher Trainee, you will serve as the lifeline between the public and our first responders.
Responsibilities
- Monitor and receive emergency and non-emergency calls via radio, telephone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and medical units to appropriate locations with complete and accurate information.
- Enter and update incident reports, field interview cards, and warrants accurately and efficiently.
- Maintain constant vigilance over multiple radio frequencies and channels to ensure situational awareness.
- Coordinate with field units to ensure officer safety and optimal resource availability.
- Provide accurate information to callers, including directions, safety instructions, and emergency medical guidance.
- Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely reports for court and administrative purposes.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Florida Driverβs License with a good driving record.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type at least 35 WPM.
- Ability to remain calm and composed under high-stress situations.
- Must pass a comprehensive background check, drug screening, and medical evaluation.
- No disqualifying criminal history.
