Responsibilities
- Answer emergency/non-emergency calls and prioritize dispatch of police units
- Operate multi-channel radio systems and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) software
- Enter and maintain accurate data in law enforcement databases
- Provide clear instructions to callers during critical incidents
- Coordinate with other emergency services (fire, EMS) during multi-agency responses
- Document call details and incident reports with precision
- Remain calm under pressure while making rapid decisions
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to work flexible shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Valid driver's license with clean record
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM
- U.S. citizenship or legal resident status
