Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with high accuracy and composure.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical units to the appropriate locations using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all radio transmissions, calls, and dispatches.
- Monitor police department radio frequencies and CCTV feeds to identify potential threats and needs.
- Provide critical information to responding officers and coordinate unit movements during incidents.
- Evaluate calls to determine the level of priority and urgency.
- Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation as required.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Hawaii Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to type at least 35-40 words per minute.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident eligible for citizenship.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm during high-stress situations.
