Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch appropriate police/fire/EMS units using CAD/RMS technology
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to officers and first responders in real-time
- Remain calm under pressure while handling high-stress crisis situations
- Utilize multi-tasking skills to manage multiple simultaneous communications
- Adhere to strict protocols for sensitive information and confidentiality
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Valid Texas Driver's License (or ability to obtain within 30 days)
- Pass background check, drug screening, and psychological evaluation
- Ability to type 35+ WPM (typing test required)
- Clear speaking voice with excellent English/Spanish bilingual skills
- Must be 18+ years old and a U.S. citizen
- No felony convictions or serious misdemeanor offenses
- Ability to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays
