Responsibilities
- Monitor and prioritize incoming emergency (911) and non-emergency calls.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and EMS units to incidents using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Collect and relay critical information to field units to ensure officer and citizen safety.
- Enter and maintain accurate records of calls, incidents, and resource deployments.
- Maintain constant communication with patrol units and other agencies via radio.
- Follow standard operating procedures for crisis management and emergency response.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid North Carolina Driverβs License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask effectively while maintaining high attention to detail.
- Strong computer literacy and typing skills.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- No prior dispatch experience required; training will be provided.
