Responsibilities
- Answer and prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
- Operate radio systems to dispatch officers and emergency personnel
- Enter and maintain accurate data in CAD systems and law enforcement databases
- Provide critical information to first responders during emergency situations
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Coordinate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional incidents
- Adhere to all department policies and confidentiality requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Excellent communication and active listening abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during critical situations
- Basic computer proficiency with ability to learn specialized software
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Valid Indiana driver's license
