Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize incoming emergency and non-emergency calls with speed and accuracy.
- Dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical units to scenes using computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems.
- Provide real-time updates and status information to field personnel and other agencies.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all calls, incidents, and unit activity.
- Communicate effectively with the public, dispatchers, and officers during high-stress situations.
- Perform clerical duties, including data entry, report preparation, and filing.
Qualifications
- No prior law enforcement or dispatch experience required—we will train you!
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35 words per minute.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, critical decisions.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and successfully pass a background investigation and medical examination.
