Responsibilities
- Receive and process emergency 911 calls and non-emergency inquiries.
- Dispatch law enforcement units to scenes based on priority and location.
- Maintain accurate logs and records of all communications.
- Utilize Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) and radio systems effectively.
- Communicate critical information to responding officers in real-time.
- Provide superior customer service to citizens and officers alike.
- Assist in training new dispatch personnel during the probationary period.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
- Ability to type a minimum of 35-40 words per minute.
- Valid Class C Texas Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, holidays, and weekends.
- Must pass a thorough background investigation and drug screen.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
