Responsibilities
- Monitor and dispatch police, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) units.
- Receive and process incoming 911 emergency calls and non-emergency inquiries.
- Enter and maintain accurate incident reports, logs, and records in the CAD system.
- Coordinate the response of law enforcement and emergency personnel to scenes.
- Operate radio and telephone systems efficiently to relay critical information.
- Provide support and information to field units, supervisors, and other agencies.
- Assist in the training of new dispatch personnel.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen or have legal authorization to work in the United States.
- Valid California Class C Driver's License is required.
- Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Excellent typing skills (minimum 35-40 WPM) and computer proficiency.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick, accurate decisions.
- No felony convictions or disqualifying criminal history.
