Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls via phone, radio, and digital systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and medical units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain accurate call logs and documentation in CAD/RMS systems
- Provide critical instructions to callers during emergencies (CPR, first aid, etc.)
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Monitor radio communications and maintain situational awareness
- Complete mandatory training modules and certification requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Minimum typing speed of 40 WPM (verified certificate required)
- Valid Texas Driver's License at time of hire
- Ability to pass background check, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer-aided dispatch systems
- Fluent in English and Spanish (bilingual preferred)
- Ability to remain calm under extreme pressure and multitask effectively
- No felony convictions and clean driving record
