Responsibilities
- Receive and process incoming emergency and non-emergency calls for service with accuracy and speed.
- Dispatch law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services (EMS) units to the appropriate locations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records, logs, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) data.
- Monitor radio frequencies and communicate effectively with field personnel and other agencies.
- Provide critical information to callers, including location details and safety instructions.
- Perform multi-tasking duties in a fast-paced, high-stress environment while maintaining composure.
- Assist in the training and orientation of new dispatch personnel during the trainee phase.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid New Mexico Class C Driver’s License required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and make quick decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in computer operations and data entry.
- Must be able to work rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Background check and drug screening will be required.
