Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy issues and provide data-driven recommendations
- Research best practices from peer cities and emerging policy trends
- Develop policy proposals and implementation frameworks
- Collaborate with department heads and community stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for city council
- Monitor policy implementation and evaluate outcomes
- Advocate for inclusive policy development processes
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or non-profit
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python)
- Deep understanding of Minnesota state and local government structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with community engagement methodologies
- Knowledge of equity-focused policy frameworks
- Valid Minnesota driver's license
