Responsibilities
- Sort and Process Mail: Accurately sort, bundle, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages to the correct distribution areas.
- Vehicle Operation: Safely operate delivery vehicles, including large trucks, vans, and motorcycles, to transport mail to various routes and locations.
- Customer Interaction: Provide exceptional customer service at Post Office lobby windows and during door-to-door delivery, answering inquiries professionally.
- Physical Handling: Lift, carry, and maneuver packages weighing up to 70 pounds over varying terrains and weather conditions.
- Route Management: Follow established delivery routes efficiently, ensuring all mail is delivered accurately and on time.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere strictly to all postal safety regulations and operational procedures while handling sensitive information and heavy equipment.
Qualifications
- Eligibility: Must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident and at least 18 years of age.
- Driver's License: Possession of a valid state driver's license is required.
- Physical Ability: Ability to stand for long periods, walk extensively, and lift heavy objects repeatedly.
- Background Check: Must successfully pass a criminal background check, drug screening, and a motor vehicle record (MVR) check.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to read maps and delivery instructions clearly.
