Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee public health programs addressing chronic disease prevention and health equity
- Collaborate with community partners, policymakers, and healthcare providers to coordinate health initiatives
- Manage departmental budgets and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Analyze health data to identify emerging trends and inform strategic planning
- Lead emergency preparedness responses for public health threats
- Supervise cross-functional teams and program evaluation processes
- Represent the department in public forums and stakeholder meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years experience in public health program management
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Proven expertise in grant writing and federal/state compliance
- Strong analytical skills with experience in health data interpretation
- Exceptional leadership abilities with team management experience
- Knowledge of Nebraska public health regulations and Omaha community demographics
