Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations for public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Develop and implement emergency preparedness plans in collaboration with city agencies and community partners
- Lead disease surveillance activities and analyze public health data to identify emerging threats
- Train public health staff and community responders on emergency protocols and procedures
- Manage grant-funded emergency response programs and ensure compliance with federal/state regulations
- Communicate critical public health information to diverse audiences through multiple channels
- Conduct after-action reviews to improve emergency response effectiveness
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential required
- Proficiency in emergency management software and public health data systems
- Strong knowledge of FEMA NIMS/ICS protocols and public health emergency frameworks
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to work effectively under pressure
- Valid Ohio driver's license and ability to work extended hours during emergencies
- Experience managing grant-funded programs and budgets preferred
