Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain emergency response protocols for public health incidents
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster response activities with local/state/federal partners
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for high-priority populations
- Train public health staff on emergency response procedures and equipment usage
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness programs and reporting requirements
- Lead community outreach initiatives for emergency preparedness education
- Ensure compliance with CDC, FEMA, and Michigan Department of Health guidelines
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred
- Expertise in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Strong grant writing and budget management skills
- Ability to work flexible hours during emergencies and travel county-wide
- Experience with data analytics for public health surveillance systems
