Responsibilities
- Develop and implement emergency response protocols for natural disasters and public health crises
- Coordinate with FEMA, CDC, and state health departments during emergencies
- Manage disease surveillance systems and track epidemiological trends
- Lead community outreach initiatives for vaccination and health education programs
- Train public health staff and emergency responders on crisis protocols
- Analyze health data to inform policy recommendations for city officials
- Oversee grant compliance and reporting for federal health programs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certification in Incident Command System (ICS-300) or equivalent
- Proficiency with epidemiological software (e.g., ESRI, RedCap)
- Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-agency responses
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Experience with federal grant management (HRSA, CDC funding)
- Strong knowledge of HIPAA and public health regulations
