Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response protocols for public health crises including pandemics, natural disasters, and bioterrorism threats
- Develop and implement community health outreach programs targeting vulnerable populations
- Collaborate with healthcare systems to optimize resource allocation during emergencies
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform strategic interventions and policy recommendations
- Manage grant-funded health initiatives ensuring compliance with federal/state regulations
- Train public health staff and community responders in emergency procedures
- Lead interagency task forces including FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Bachelor's with 5+ years experience considered)
- Minimum 3 years emergency response or public health crisis management experience
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proficient in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Strong familiarity with Louisiana public health regulations and resources
- Exceptional crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Valid Louisiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work 24/7 during declared emergencies
