Responsibilities
- Develop and implement comprehensive emergency response protocols for public health crises including natural disasters, pandemics, and bioterrorism threats
- Coordinate multi-agency collaborations with FEMA, CDC, state health departments, and community organizations
- Lead rapid deployment of public health resources during emergencies including vaccination clinics, shelters, and medical surge operations
- Analyze epidemiological data to inform emergency decisions and resource allocation strategies
- Design community resilience programs targeting vulnerable populations during disaster scenarios
- Conduct tabletop exercises and real-time drills to test emergency response capabilities
- Prepare grant applications and manage federal/state emergency preparedness funding
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field required
- 5+ years experience in public health emergency response with government or NGO sector
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential preferred
- Proven expertise in incident command system (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Advanced data analysis skills with experience in GIS mapping and epidemiological modeling
- Exceptional crisis communication abilities for diverse audiences
- Demonstrated success in securing and managing federal emergency preparedness grants
- Strong understanding of health equity principles and culturally competent outreach
