Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public swimming pools
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce California Health & Safety Code regulations
- Develop educational programs for businesses and community organizations on health best practices
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with state agencies to implement public health initiatives
- Testify in legal proceedings regarding regulatory violations
- Train junior inspectors on inspection protocols and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health or related field
- Valid California Registered Environmental Health Specialist (REHS) certification
- Minimum 3 years of environmental health inspection experience
- Knowledge of California Health & Safety Code Title 25
- Strong conflict resolution and public communication skills
- Ability to work independently in field environments
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Proficiency with inspection software and database management
