Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide public health emergency response protocols
- Coordinate multi-agency disaster preparedness exercises and drills
- Lead incident command center operations during public health emergencies
- Manage emergency supply chain and resource allocation systems
- Conduct community risk assessments and vulnerability analyses
- Train public health staff on emergency response procedures
- Prepare federal grant proposals for emergency preparedness funding
- Communicate critical public health alerts to diverse audiences
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years emergency response coordination experience
- Incident Command System (ICS) certification (FEMA 100/200)
- Proven experience managing public health emergency drills
- Strong knowledge of NIMS and NFPA standards
- Exceptional crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Ability to work irregular hours during emergencies
