Responsibilities
- Develop and implement county-wide emergency response plans for public health crises
- Coordinate inter-agency partnerships with hospitals, EMS, and federal health authorities
- Lead public health emergency operations center activations during incidents
- Oversee mass vaccination and distribution programs during outbreaks
- Conduct risk assessments for emerging health threats
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness initiatives
- Train public health staff on emergency protocols and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field
- 3+ years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent preferred
- Proven ability to coordinate multi-agency emergency operations
- Strong knowledge of NIMS/ICS frameworks and FEMA guidelines
- Exceptional communication skills for public messaging during crises
- Experience managing public health grants and budgets
- Valid Nebraska driver's license
