Responsibilities
- Lead emergency response planning and execution for public health crises including disease outbreaks and natural disasters
- Coordinate multi-agency partnerships with FEMA, CDC, and local healthcare providers
- Develop and implement community vaccination and health education programs
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify emerging health threats and resource allocation needs
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $500K+ for public health infrastructure improvements
- Train emergency response personnel in public health protocols and crisis communication
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and federal health authorities
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years experience in public emergency response or healthcare crisis management
- Valid Louisiana Public Health certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Advanced proficiency in health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Strong knowledge of FEMA Incident Command System (ICS) protocols
- Exceptional crisis communication skills with diverse community stakeholders
- Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Ability to work flexible hours during emergency deployments
