Responsibilities
- Conduct immediate on-site inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public facilities
- Investigate public health complaints and enforce regulatory compliance
- Prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence
- Provide emergency response during disease outbreaks or contamination incidents
- Collaborate with local health departments and law enforcement agencies
- Train food service staff on safe handling practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Environmental Science, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of regulatory inspection experience
- Valid Texas Food Manager Certification
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends for emergency responses
- Strong knowledge of HACCP principles and Texas Health & Safety Code
- Valid Texas driver's license with clean record
- Proficiency in mobile inspection software and GIS mapping
