Responsibilities
- Conduct routine inspections of food establishments, childcare centers, and public facilities
- Investigate public health complaints and disease outbreaks
- Enforce local and state health regulations through education and citations
- Maintain detailed inspection reports and regulatory documentation
- Collaborate with community stakeholders on health initiatives
- Provide public education on health safety practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health, Public Health, or related field
- Minimum 2 years of environmental health or regulatory inspection experience
- Valid Wisconsin Public Health Sanitarian certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong knowledge of FDA Food Code and Wisconsin administrative codes
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license and reliable transportation
