Responsibilities
- Lead epidemiological investigations of infectious disease outbreaks across San Diego County
- Collect and analyze health data to identify emerging public health threats
- Coordinate emergency response protocols with local healthcare providers and government agencies
- Develop and execute targeted community intervention strategies
- Prepare detailed outbreak reports and recommend policy adjustments
- Train frontline healthcare workers on outbreak containment procedures
- Manage public health surveillance systems and maintain data integrity
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of public health investigation experience
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS) or willing to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency with health data analysis tools (SPSS, SAS, or R)
- Valid California driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to work flexible hours including nights/weekends during emergencies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
