Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and monitor evidence-based public health programs targeting priority community health needs
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify trends and develop targeted intervention strategies
- Collaborate with community partners, healthcare providers, and government agencies to coordinate health initiatives
- Develop educational materials and outreach campaigns to promote healthy behaviors and disease prevention
- Manage program budgets, track performance metrics, and prepare comprehensive reports for stakeholders
- Stay current with public health regulations, best practices, and emerging health threats
- Represent the department at community events and public health forums
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nursing, Social Work, or related field; Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 3 years of experience in public health program coordination or community health
- Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in health information systems (e.g., Epi-Info, REDCap)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information clearly
- Experience developing community partnerships and engaging diverse populations
- Knowledge of public health principles, health equity frameworks, and Maryland health regulations
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines in a government environment
