Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and evaluate community health intervention programs
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify health trends and emerging threats
- Coordinate with local healthcare providers, schools, and nonprofits for outreach initiatives
- Develop educational materials on health topics (e.g., immunization, chronic disease prevention)
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with reporting requirements
- Lead community health assessments and prioritize population needs
- Represent the department in public health coalitions and interagency meetings
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in public health program implementation
- Valid Texas Department of State Health Services certification
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (SPSS, R, SAS)
- Experience managing federal/state grant-funded projects
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- Valid Texas driver's license
