Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological investigations and analyze health data to identify community health trends
- Develop and implement evidence-based public health education programs for diverse populations
- Coordinate emergency preparedness responses for public health threats
- Collaborate with community partners to address social determinants of health
- Monitor and report on communicable disease outbreaks
- Manage public health grants and ensure compliance with state regulations
- Represent the department in community outreach initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of public health experience with community-based programs
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or similar)
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES) or equivalent certification
- Experience with grant writing and program evaluation
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and populations
