Responsibilities
- Conduct epidemiological investigations for reportable diseases and health emergencies
- Develop and implement community health education programs targeting underserved populations
- Analyze public health data to identify trends and recommend intervention strategies
- Coordinate with healthcare providers, schools, and community organizations on outbreak response
- Prepare detailed reports for state health officials and CDC compliance
- Lead vaccination campaigns and health screenings in high-priority neighborhoods
- Stay current with public health regulations and emerging health threats
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health (MPH) or related field (or Bachelor's with 3+ years experience)
- New York State Public Health Nurse license (or eligible for immediate licensure)
- Minimum 2 years experience in epidemiology or community health programs
- Proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or SAS) and health information systems
- Excellent communication skills with multilingual abilities preferred
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends during emergencies
- Valid NYS driver's license with clean driving record
