The City of Dallas Health Department is urgently seeking a dedicated Public Health Specialist to join our emergency response team. Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency public health responses across Dallas County
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify outbreak patterns and risks
- Develop community education materials for crisis communication
- Collaborate with healthcare providers on vaccination and containment strategies
- Prepare and submit urgent health impact reports to city leadership
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness initiatives
- Train frontline workers on public health protocols during emergencies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health or related field (MPH preferred)
- 3+ years of experience in public health emergency response
- Certified in Incident Command System (ICS-300)
- Proficient in epidemiological software (e.g., Epi Info, SAS)
- Demonstrated crisis communication experience
- Valid Texas Public Health Certification
- Ability to work 24/7 during declared emergencies
- Bi-lingual in English/Spanish required
