Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls via 911 and non-emergency lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain radio communication with field units during active incidents
- Enter and update incident data in CAD and RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival instructions to callers
- Maintain situational awareness through continuous monitoring
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or call center experience
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screen
- Valid Indiana driver's license
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
- Strong multitasking and decision-making skills under pressure
- Proficiency with computer-aided dispatch systems
