This vital role operates 24/7/365, requiring weekend availability (Saturday/Sunday) with rotating holidays. You'll be the lifeline connecting emergency services with those in need, all within Colorado Springs' dynamic urban landscape.
Responsibilities
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel during weekend shifts
- Maintain precise radio communication protocols
- Enter/update critical incident data in CAD/RMS systems
- Coordinate multi-agency emergency responses
- Provide crisis intervention to callers
- Generate detailed incident reports
- Ensure compliance with NIMS/ICS procedures
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1-year public safety dispatch experience
- Valid Colorado driver's license
- Pass background check and psychological evaluation
- EMR certification preferred
- Ability to work rotating weekends/holidays
- Typing speed: 40+ WPM
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems
