Responsibilities
- Monitor and secure assigned public facilities, parks, and event spaces during weekend hours to ensure public safety and regulatory compliance
- Respond promptly to emergency calls, incidents, and citizen requests during weekend shifts, providing critical first response support
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of high-traffic weekend venues including downtown districts, entertainment zones, and recreational areas
- Enforce city ordinances and safety protocols during weekend operations, issuing citations when necessary
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies and emergency services during weekend events and incidents
- Prepare detailed incident reports and activity logs for weekend shift activities
- Provide information and assistance to visitors and residents during weekend operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree in criminal justice or public administration preferred
- Valid Texas Peace Officer License or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public safety, security, or law enforcement
- Ability to work flexible weekend schedule (Saturday-Sunday) with holidays as required
- Strong communication skills with ability to de-escalate situations and interact effectively with diverse populations
- Proficiency in using law enforcement databases and reporting systems
- Must pass comprehensive background check, drug screening, and physical fitness assessment
