Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and engineering specifications
- Review project plans and documentation for accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Document inspection findings in detailed reports and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Conduct field inspections of roads, bridges, water systems, and other public infrastructure
- Prepare and maintain inspection records for regulatory compliance
- Test materials and soil samples to ensure quality standards
- Participate in pre-construction meetings to clarify project requirements
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Indiana Inspector Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety regulations and construction standards
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Cityworks, AutoCAD)
- Excellent written communication skills for report writing
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean record
