Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with city codes and blueprints
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports for project stakeholders
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Review construction plans and specifications for adherence to safety standards
- Investigate citizen complaints related to construction activities and public infrastructure
- Maintain accurate records of inspections and project documentation
- Provide technical guidance to contractors during project execution
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in Construction Technology or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience or equivalent
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- ICBO certifications (ICC Residential or Commercial Inspector) preferred
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and construction specifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and municipal building codes
