Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of public works construction projects for compliance with plans/specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Verify construction materials, methods, and workmanship meet city standards
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city staff to resolve technical issues
- Enforce municipal codes, safety regulations, and environmental compliance
- Monitor project progress and timelines while ensuring quality control
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering/Construction Technology preferred
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection or related field experience
- Valid California Class C Driver's License
- ICBO certifications (ICC, CBO) highly desirable
- Proficiency with construction software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of CA construction codes and safety protocols
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills
