Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications
- Review engineering drawings and project documentation for accuracy and regulatory adherence
- Document inspection findings through detailed reports and digital records
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works infrastructure issues
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Prepare and maintain inspection records for permit tracking and compliance reporting
- Provide technical guidance during project planning phases to prevent code violations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Indiana Inspector certification (ICC or equivalent) required
- Proficiency in reading construction blueprints and technical specifications
- Strong knowledge of municipal building codes and OSHA safety standards
- Excellent written communication skills for report documentation
- Ability to operate inspection tools (e.g., levels, distance meters)
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean driving record
- Experience with GIS mapping software preferred
