Responsibilities
- Inspect public works construction projects for compliance with approved plans, specifications, and safety standards
- Review and process permit applications, construction plans, and engineering documents
- Document inspection findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate records
- Investigate citizen complaints and address infrastructure concerns
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and other city departments
- Enforce municipal codes and regulations through field inspections and compliance actions
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of construction inspection experience in public works or civil engineering
- Valid California Driver's License
- ICBO/ICC certifications (Building Inspector, Plans Examiner, or related)
- Proficiency in construction materials, methods, and safety protocols
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
