Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites, utility installations, and infrastructure projects for code compliance
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for technical accuracy and feasibility
- Issue violation notices and corrective action reports with clear documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain digital records
- Conduct field investigations for public safety complaints
- Train junior inspectors on municipal regulations and best practices
Qualifications
- 5+ years in construction inspection or public works engineering
- Valid California Inspector certification (ICBO or ICC)
- Proficiency with CAD software and field inspection tools
- Strong knowledge of California Building Codes and Title 24
- Ability to interpret complex engineering specifications
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred
