Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects to verify compliance with approved plans and specifications
- Document findings, prepare detailed reports, and maintain accurate project records
- Enforce city ordinances, building codes, and safety regulations during construction phases
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve technical issues
- Review permit applications and provide technical guidance to stakeholders
- Monitor environmental compliance including erosion control and stormwater management
- Test materials and soil conditions to ensure quality standards are met
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 5+ years construction inspection experience
- Valid Minnesota Class D Driver's License with clean driving record
- Certification in construction inspection or related field (e.g., ICC) preferred
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and OSHA safety standards
- Proficient in field inspection software and digital reporting tools
- Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and physical environments
- U.S. citizenship and ability to pass background check for government clearance
