Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites, infrastructure projects, and municipal facilities for compliance with safety standards and blueprints
- Review permit applications, engineering plans, and contractor documentation for regulatory adherence
- Investigate citizen complaints regarding code violations and public infrastructure issues
- Prepare detailed inspection reports, violation notices, and compliance recommendations
- Collaborate with engineering teams, contractors, and regulatory agencies to resolve discrepancies
- Conduct field assessments of drainage systems, roadways, and public utilities
- Maintain accurate digital and physical records of inspections and communications
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection or municipal compliance experience
- Valid Florida Driver's License and reliable transportation
- ICBO Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Strong knowledge of Florida Building Codes, FDOT standards, and OSHA regulations
- Proficiency in CAD software and digital reporting systems
- Excellent communication skills for stakeholder interactions and public presentations
