Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and engineering specifications
- Review and approve contractor submittals, plans, and permit applications
- Document findings through detailed reports, photos, and field notes
- Investigate public complaints related to infrastructure issues
- Coordinate with engineers, contractors, and city departments
- Prepare violation notices and enforcement actions when necessary
- Participate in infrastructure improvement planning meetings
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or related field preferred
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
- Certification from International Code Council (ICC) or equivalent preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and local building codes
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
