Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes, plans, and specifications
- Review permit applications and technical drawings for accuracy
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Investigate code violations and recommend corrective actions
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and property owners
- Conduct field surveys and verify construction materials
- Testify in hearings and legal proceedings as required
Qualifications
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience in public works
- Valid California Inspector Certification (ICBO/ICC)
- Knowledge of California Building Codes and OSHA standards
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to read architectural/blueprint drawings
- Valid California driver's license
- Experience with GIS mapping software preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
