Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for adherence to safety regulations and building codes
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for compliance with municipal standards
- Document violations and issue correction notices to contractors
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and city officials during project reviews
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain accurate records
- Provide technical guidance to contractors and developers
- Test materials and soil conditions for project specifications
- Respond to citizen inquiries regarding construction projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology preferred
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid California Inspector Certification (ICBO or ICC)
- Knowledge of California Building Codes and Title 24 requirements
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and construction documents
- Strong communication skills for stakeholder interactions
- Valid California driver's license
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
