Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction sites for compliance with city codes and project specifications
- Review engineering drawings and blueprints for technical accuracy

- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve compliance issues
- Prepare and maintain inspection records for regulatory compliance
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public works infrastructure
- Assist in developing new inspection protocols and quality control measures
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field
- 3+ years of construction inspection experience with government projects preferred
- Valid Michigan Driver's License with clean driving record
- ICBO certifications in building inspection highly desirable
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of Michigan's Uniform Building Code
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments year-round
