Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city ordinances and safety regulations
- Review blueprints and engineering plans for accuracy
- Document violations and issue correction notices
- Coordinate with contractors and city engineers on project specifications
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and maintain records
- Test materials and soil conditions for quality assurance
- Represent the city at public meetings regarding infrastructure projects
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in construction technology preferred
- 3+ years of construction inspection or related experience
- Valid Ohio Driver's License
- ICC certifications in building or plumbing inspection
- Proficiency in CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of Ohio Building Codes and OSHA standards
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and lift up to 50 lbs
