Responsibilities
- Inspect public infrastructure projects (roads, bridges, utilities) for code compliance and quality standards
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports with photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Verify construction materials meet specifications and safety requirements
- Enforce city ordinances and state regulations during project phases
- Conduct field inspections in all weather conditions and varied terrains
- Provide technical guidance to project stakeholders
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in engineering/construction preferred
- Minimum 3 years construction inspection or public works experience
- ICBO/ICC certifications in building inspection or related field
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean driving record
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Field Data Pro, Accela)
- Strong knowledge of Nebraska DOT specifications and OSHA standards
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and work in outdoor environments
