Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects to ensure compliance with city codes and engineering specifications
- Review development plans, permits, and contractor documentation for accuracy
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed reports using digital systems
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Enforce safety regulations and environmental standards on job sites
- Provide technical guidance to developers and contractors regarding city requirements
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 3+ years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean driving record
- ICBO Certification or equivalent inspection credentials preferred
- Proficiency with CAD software and digital reporting systems
- Strong knowledge of Virginia Building Codes and local ordinances
- Excellent written/verbal communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
