Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of municipal infrastructure projects including roads, bridges, and drainage systems
- Verify compliance with engineering plans, safety regulations, and city codes
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Maintain accurate project documentation and inspection records
- Assist in emergency response during weather-related infrastructure events
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree in civil engineering or construction technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or field experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean driving record
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification or ability to obtain within 30 days
- Proficiency with inspection software (e.g., Cityworks, GIS mapping)
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and physical environments
- U.S. citizenship or permanent residency required for government clearance
